THE FORGOTTEN PRAYER COURSE
Prayer is our first and greatest work.
As fathers, especially, it’s our job to pray for my family.
But how do we do that?
One powerful answer is the prayer of 1 Chronicles 4:10.GET ACCESS
Pray with power and purpose
- Say goodbye to praying in a fog.
- Pray with a picture of the entire Bible and Church history in view.
- Bring direction and blessing to your family, community, business, and life.
Learn how to pray as a father.
The mysterious prayer of 1 Chronicles 4:10 raises so many questions:
- Why did the Chronicler include an anonymous man named "Jabez" (who was "born in pain") in the book's opening genealogy?
- Why did the Chronicler interrupt this genealogy with a prayer?
- Why did the Chonicler write a genealogy in the first place? And what was so important about it that the New Testament authors used Chronicles to trace Jesus's own family tree?
- Why does "Jabez" (whose name is a wordplay on "pain") pray for more land?
- What does it mean to be "blessed"?
The questions go on and on...and the answers are powerful. But one thing is for sure: 1 Chronicles 4:10 is not the materialistic wish list it's often made out to be. It is the model prayer for God's family, the prayer of a father.
Standing in plain sight for thousands of years but never seen, translated into hundreds of languages but never talked about, the Forgotten Prayer is a secret of biblical proportions.
To my knowledge, the Church fathers, famous for elaborate commentary on even the most obscure passages of the Old Testament, missed it. Even today, having been construed as a materialistic and shallow prayer, it remains an enigma. What is the Forgotten Prayer?TAKE THE COURSE
"Oh that you would bless me
And broaden my border,
And that your hand would be with me,
And that you would keep me from harm."
—1 Chron. 4:10
As men learn in the course, the Chronicler strategically places this prayer in a long genealogy to serve as the representative prayer of that genealogy—a heritage going all the way back through the patriarchs to Adam!
Read in biblical context—from Adam to Abraham to Israel to Christ to the Church today—this is a prayer from the heart of the Church to the ends of the earth.GET ACCESS

"A rich rereading of the prayer of Jabez that attempts not only to re-contextualize it and redeem it from misuse but also to recognize and rightfully honor its wide, deep, lasting invitation to believers to pray from within the church and world, for the church and world, together, as one body, united in hope and called to a generous way of sacrificial love.”

“There is a timeless quality to this...The language is simple, elegant, and wholly contemporary. Yet Blanski reads as the best theologians have read through the centuries: seeing Scripture as a complex unity, reading in the company of the saints and for the sake of entering into the kingdom of God.”
Author of Through, With, and In Him: The Prayer Life of Jesus and How to Make It Our Own
"Tyler Blanski does far more than rescue the Prayer of Jabez from the shallowness of the prosperity gospel. His phenomenal exegesis reveals it as the prophetic precursor to the prayer of Christ and His Church. It is a biblical tour de force leading readers from the Garden of Eden to the Heavenly Jerusalem.”

The Forgotten Prayer of 1 Chronicles 4:10 is our battle cry. This isn't the materialistic and shallow prayer it's often made out to be: it's a father's prayer from the heart of the Church to the ends of the earth.JOIN OTHER MEN IN PRAYER
The Forgotten Prayer
I never liked the so-called "Prayer of Jabez"...Until I realized that this Forgotten Prayer is not the private petition for health and wealth it’s often made out to be. It is the model prayer of God’s family, a shortened version of the Church’s prayer through the ages. As such, it is a model prayer for men with a vocation to fatherhood.
I know what it's like to make mistakes—even to fall flat on his face in front of the people I love most. But whatever happens, I don't ever want to simply drift through fatherhood. I want to be a man of prayer. I want to find those passages of Scripture that make my prayer life as a father come alive.
There's a lot at stake and so I want to keep developing and learning how to do this better. The Forgotten Prayer Course is a way to bring men together to pray from the heart of the Church to the ends of the earth.

What is "Fight for Milk"?
The Fight for Milk courses and community bring men together to succeed in their vocation to fatherhood.
There’s this great scene in the film "Cinderella Man" where boxer Jim Braddock (Russell Crowe) has been on a losing streak until suddenly he’s not losing anymore. He’s winning.
So a reporter asks him, “What are you fighting for?”
Jim answers, “Milk."
Jim wasn’t fighting for medals or answering some distant call of the wild. Jim was fighting for milk for his kids.
"Milk" is a father's responsibilities, everything he must fight for—everything he must PRAY for.TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE
Church-bells beyond the stars heard, the soul's blood,
The land of spices; something understood.
