"Perhaps, after all, romance did not come into one's life with pomp and blare, like a gray knight riding down; perhaps it crept to one's side like an old friend through quiet ways; perhaps love unfolded naturally out of a beautiful friendship."
—Anne of Avonlea

Why "Fight for Milk"?
There’s this great scene in the film "Cinderella Man" where boxer Jim Braddock (Russell Crowe) has been on a losing streak until suddenly he’s not losing anymore. He’s winning. So a reporter asks him, “What are you fighting for?” Jim answers, “Milk." Jim wasn’t fighting for medals or answering some distant call of the wild. Jim was fighting for milk for his kids. "Milk" is a father's responsibilities, everything he must fight for.FIGHT FOR MILK
"Of all modern notions, the worst is this: that domesticity is dull... The home is the one wild place in the world."
In all likelihood, no one has invested in your husband in a very long time—even though it's his job to invest in others! Fight for Milk brings men together in order to grow in their vocation to fatherhood—because this is the true adventure.
“I have a dream. I persist in dreaming it, although it has often seemed to me that it could never come true. I dream of a home with a hearth-fire in it, a cat and dog, the footsteps of friends – and you!”
—Gilbert BlytheSTART FREE TRIAL
The fictional (and admirable!) character Gilbert Blythe in Anne of Green Gables seems to capture so many virtues that will help men succeed in their vocation to fatherhood—he gives a standing ovation for his girl, he listens, he's loyal, he works hard, he's open to life, he has conviction, and he has a vision for his life.
Many men have taken the vocation to fatherhood seriously and made a positive impact—and they're not just in novels! So many fathers have either gone before us or are still working hard behind the scenes all around us, showing us how to be better husbands and fathers and breadwinners. I want to find them and learn from them.
As my wife can tell you, I’m no expert. I’ve had more than my share of “Carrots!” moments. I’ve made a lot of mistakes, and I’m learning so much every day. But as challenging as fatherhood can be, I don’t ever want to tap out. I want to find the Gilberts of the world and not only invest in them but learn from them.
After working with fathers in business, prison ministry and chaplain ministry, serving as the pastoral associate of faith formation at a large Catholic parish, and raising my own crazy brood of three children with my beautiful wife, Brittany, I’ve seen that no matter what a man is up against, there are basic, underlying principles that can help him succeed.
There's a lot at stake and so I want to keep developing and learning how to do this better. Project Gilbert is a mission to bring men together to never stop learning and growing. Because the world needs more Gilberts.
"The F4M Framework is inspiring and practical."

"There is nothing more admirable than when two people who see eye to eye keep house as man and wife, confounding their enemies and delighting their friends."
